These empower people within NW London organisations to carry out effective evaluations by providing an Evaluation Surgery, a one-off tailored support and advice session with an expert.
You can sign up to an Evaluation Surgery regardless of your prior evaluation experience – whether you are a total beginner or relatively experienced – or what stage of the evaluation you are currently at whether just starting out or if you already have results to report on.
What to expect
Here’s how the Evaluation Surgeries process works:
- Before you contact us, look through the existing resources in this Evaluation Toolkit and capture the basic information about your evaluation.
- For instance, what is the aim of the initiative you are evaluating? What is the aim of the evaluation itself and what decision will it support?
- As a minimum, you should also have used our evaluation design tool and checked our outcomes measurement tool.
- You will be asked to provide this information in the sign-up form as well as list the main questions you want to ask.
- We then match you to an experienced volunteer from a NW London organisation and get back to you with an appointment (this can take up to 10 working days but we will always try to respond before this).
- You will meet with your expert for a virtual 60-minute session. During this session, you can ask any questions you have about the evaluation you are planning or conducting.
- These can include questions on where to find relevant data, guidance on what evaluation design to use – or anything else you might need help with.
Before booking your evaluation surgery, we recommend you view the recommended resources in stage one of our step-by-step guide.
